Introduction

Hello!
My name is Dariel and I am 23 years old. During the year I work as a teaching assistant in a fourth-grade Special Education classroom. I love my job and working with kids so much. Teaching is my passion and I am looking forward to getting my Masters in Childhood Education with a Bilingual Extension!

 Some of my interests include: going to the beach, cooking, traveling, working with kids, riding my bike and so many more. I would have to say my parents are my role models. I say this because they have always pushed me to do my best and work hard. I wouldn't be who I am today because of them. I am so thankful to have them in my life. The best piece of advice I've been given is to always be kind to one another. Throughout my life, I've always been told to be kind to everyone and to respect everyone. If I could plan the ultimate vacation I would go to either Hawaii or New Zealand. I've always wanted to go to both places for such a long time because they are both beautiful in their own way. I love the beach so I think Hawaii would be perfect for that. I always wanted to learn more about New Zealand and its culture.

The article The Future of Education is in Two Languages was a very interesting read. In the article, Fabice talks about three objectives leaning towards bilingualism. The first objective is to espouse cultures specific to families and linguistic communities and promote this cultural heritage as an important part of the mosaic of society. The second objective is to help facilitate reconciliation between parents and schools and encourage a fruitful dialogue between parents, school administrators, and educational professions. The third and final objective is to promote a social, economic, and cultural environment that is respectful of all and helps to bridge the gulfs that divide us today.
